The World Bank is supporting the Government of Indonesia to implement the EITI (Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative), a global standard that promotes revenue transparency and accountability in the extractive sector. Indonesia formally assumed EITI candidacy in October 2010, and was found compliant with EITI Rules in October 2014.
One way to foster transparency and accountability in extractive industries is to build a website that contains all information related to extractive industries (such as: oil production, coal production, state revenue from the extractive industries, etc) in the most accessible and reusable format. The portal will be referred as Indonesia Extractive Industries Data Portal and it will be managed by EITI Indonesia Secretariat, housed in Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs.
By having a portal that integrates all the extractive industries information into one place and make it searchable and reusable, we hope that citizens might use that information and have better understanding about the extractive industries in Indonesia. It eventually will empower them to have greater role to push transparency and accountability for all extractive industries’ stakeholders in Indonesia.
Therefore, we would like to invite technology and web development firms to design and implement the alpha and beta version of Indonesia Extractive Industries Data Portal. You may participate in the selection process by registering and sending Expression of Interest via this link: https://wbgeconsult2.worldbank.org/wbgec/index.html. Further details about the work and qualifications for the firm can be found too in that link under “Business Opportunities” and selection no. 1200647.
The deadline for submitting Expression of Interest will be on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, 23.59 US Eastern Time (October 8, 2015, 10.59 Jakarta Time)
